New Investment Opportunities in Shaanxi Province, China (AGM Abogados, Spain)

For many companies around the world, China represent a goldmine of business opportunities, but still, is perceived as a myth difficult to reach. This perception is in fact due to a lack of knowledge concerning both the culture and the region in general. Yet, there exist a large amount of both public and private Chinese organizations working at helping foreign companies in order to promote collaboration in various business areas.

On the other hand, it is not a secret that most companies prefer a more direct approach to keep a closer control on their investments and activities abroad. To avoid intermediaries, alliances or subsidiaries become other solutions that might first appear unrealisable, but that can end up facilitating and promoting much more efficiently the company’s activities. In fact, following repeated business contact in the Shaanxi province of China thanks to one of its clients, AGM Law Firm from Spain has opted for such a solution. Via the company European Development in China, AGM Law Firm opened a foreign branch office in the city of Xi’an. Since then, close collaboration with that region’s authority, as well as with business promotion organizations has frequently occurred.

Following the previous visit of two commercial missions from Xi’an, and one year after the opening of their Chinese branch office, some members of AGM Law Firm travelled to China to assist to the 5th China Western Region Foreign Investment Promotion Fair. The aim of this visit was to participate in the action focusing on promoting future economic developments in the Shaanxi province.

In fact, with its average 40 millions inhabitants among which 8 millions are located in the main city of Xi’an, the Shaanxi province is one of the privilege regions of China allying the presence of dynastical heritage within the modern frame of a rapidly growing economy. Shaanxi represents in effect a bridge between inland provinces, been located at less than two days by truck of the main cities of China including Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong. Among the multitude of investment opportunities currently promoted in the region, we can name areas related to tourism, chemicals, manufacturing, food, IT and services. Many other sectors including packaging, footwear, biotechnology, machinery, aerospace, energy, construction, and more, are also looking for partnership and investment with/from European and other foreign firms. This region, been complementary to the high level industry of the coast, can offer advantageously competitive conditions to foreign businesses.

The Lawrope International Group of Lawyers, following its expansion mission and its innovation spirit, is currently involved, thanks to AGM Law Firm, in the promotion of the various investment and alliances opportunities communicated by its Chinese contacts. The group wishes to bring these opportunities to the attention of potential investors and partners willing to discover new horizons and uncover the myth of doing business in China. Interested entities are then invited to communicate directly with AGM Law Firm by writing to Francisco Lacasa, Founder Parner of AGM Abogados and current President of Lawrope at flacasa@agmabogados.com.
